Phillip is a former civil servant and member of the armed forces. He was awarded the MBE in 1993. He has also served as a district councillor and is a part-time tutor and lecturer for both London and the Open University.
Since Call, Phillip has practised in Criminal Law, both prosecution and defence and has also dealt with Common Law matters.

He has always been interested in planning and environmental issues and when he was successful recently in being elected as a Councillor for his local Borough, Richmond-upon-Thames, he was delighted when he was offered a planning portfolio.
Philip is now authorised to deal with Direct Public Access work subject to Bar Council guidelines.

He lives with his wife, Elizabeth, in Richmond-Upon-Thames.
